Songs to get you through the pandemic.
(Note: Boost Your Playlist is for songs either from artists/bands that are local to DC, that recently performed live, or ‘should’ be performing live in DC at some point this year.)
Check out the brand new song from Elizabeth II, a great local rock band led by Elizabeth Cannon.
“Graffiti Heart” starts off the way you might expect a Nirvana song from In Utero to sound, including the raw, unfiltered vocals.
It’s an epic kiss off to their sweetest love, boldly leaving them and letting nature takes its course (‘the rain washes on’ and ‘wildfires out in the dark’). The lyrics dive in and out between coy and fiery, and Elizabeth even finds a way to almost rhyme ‘Heart’ with ‘Spark’.
It’s a inspiring song to get you motivated for a social distance walk, people may stare at you as you try to sing along.
Listen up!
