D.C. Walls, the sixth annual celebration of the creativity of murals in DC, takes place from September 8 through 18 in the NoMa neighborhood. This mural event used to be called POW! WOW!, until this year.

Have a peek at the locations of this year’s murals, and the names of the artists participating.

Grab a map and head over to watch the creation of the murals!

Also, on September 12th, from 12-5pm D.C. Walls will have its ‘Opening Day’ celebration at Alethia Tanner Park.

The goals of D.C. Walls are ‘sharing ideas’, to ‘beautify the city’, to ‘educate the community’, and ‘inspire youth’.

For the 2020 edition of POW! WOW!, I had an ambitious idea to track the progress of all the murals as they progressed through different stages of creation. I took a lot of photos, but failed to create a post highlighting them, as my ambition only went so far during COVID-19.

At any rate, I’ll be out of town during this year’s event, so instead I will actually post a few of the photos from last year. Enjoy!
