Nerds in NoMa is back! Virtually!
Nice, this year’s Nerds In NoMa is dedicated to a single topic, one we love here, beer. Specifically, a series of talks on Home Brewing.
And some NoMa residents will get a free home brew kit.

“We’ve all been cooped up these past 11 months, but one positive thing to come from all this at-home time is the chance to discover new hobbies! Now it’s time to hear from the experts about one of the most popular new pastimes that’s been brewing during the pandemic … the art and craft of Home Brewing. Mark your calendars and plan to join us for the virtual Nerds in NoMa Home Brew weekly series on the @noma.bid IGTV launching Thursday, March 4th.
You’ll get to hear each week from top local brewmasters, including President of the DC Homebrewers Club Omar Al-Nidawi and NoMa’s own craft brewery Red Bear Brewing Co. who will share tips and hints along your journey in crafting your own brew. Red Bear will be right there at your side, sharing tips as they craft a special NoMa brew that you’ll have the chance to help name. The series concludes with a socially-distanced, in-person Hoppy Hour at Wunder Garten where we’ll taste test together the special NoMa brew!
If you’re a NoMa resident and would like to reserve one of the 40 FREE home brew kits we’re offering on a first-come, first-served basis, please provide your address and phone number, so we can notify you about pick-up (proof of age and NoMa residency required at pick-up). We hope you like what we’ve got brewed up!”
