2020 should be about loving beer.
Candidly, I don’t subscribe to the whole Valentine’s Day situation as a concept.
So when counterprogramming in the form of beer comes around, I take notice.
Love Thy Beer: Winter Warmer Showcase takes place on February 14th at the Silver Spring Civic Building, easy access from DC.
The beer festival is put on by the Brewers Association of Maryland, and therefore features only Maryland breweries, such gems I’ve visited as Astro Lab Brewing, Sapwood Cellars, Monocacy Brewing Co., and Brewer’s Alley, among many, many more.
And February 14th is on a Friday this time, the perfect time to have an unlimited samplings of delicious beer.
The conceit is each brewery has brewed a seasonal ‘Cupid’s Curse’ beer for the month of February, and you can chat with the local Maryland brewers.
You can also partake in live music (SoulTET) and ice cream samples from Cabot Creamery Co-operative.
