British Americana!
Jade Bird returns to DC, this time performing at the 9:30 Club on September 28th. You need to get you and your friends some tickets (maybe use 9:30 Club’s new mobile box office truck), and get on board with Americana and folk rock, as presented by a British artist.
Jade’s self-titled debut full length album came out in April (via Glassnote Records), and the first few singles bring life to the themes of the album, fear, cynicism, vulnerability, yet with a hint of optimism that things don’t need to stay as they are. Jade takes up the mantle as a beacon for inspiring young girls to give music a try. Jade certainly did it well so far.
“I Get No Joy” highlights her vast vocal range, from straightforward spoken word, to rapid fire lyrics, to a chorus belted to the skies.
“My Motto” is a sedate ballad about not letting someone stay close enough for them to hurt you again.
We caught Jade perform in DC last year, and highly recommend you catch this concert!
Get your tickets here.
Tickets are $25. Doors open at 9:30 Club at 6pm. Opener is Flyte.
