The 9:30 Club wants all of DC’s ready, funky and soulful denizens on December 7th!

Come out for Khruangbin, from Houston, as they are touring for their second album, Con Todo El Mundo.

Khruangbin is heavy on the World music theme full of soul, classical and even Thai funk sounds. In fact, according to The Guardian, their name means “engine fly” in Thailand, symbolizing the international flavor of influences shaping their music.

In “Como Te Quiero”, a quiet ambiance induces one towards a contemplative mood, only to be roused for “Evan Finds the Third Room”, where we enjoy a positive funky and upbeat vibe, and Evan is certainly doing well for himself.

Finally, in “Maria También” we get an excellent sampling of surf rock, certainly something Quentin Tarantino would have put on a movie soundtrack, if Khruangbin had only released the song 30 years ago.

Khruangbin is Laura Lee (bass), Mark Speer (guitar) and Donald Johnson (drums).

Tickets are sold out so get on the resale sites!

Doors open at the 9:30 Club at 8pm. Opener is Will Van Horn.
