All the meats!

Between January 28th and February 4th, why not check out some of the barbecue places you’ve been meaning to try? It’s Meat Week, so some of your local meat purveyors are offering specials and an excuse to eat meat.

Aren’t your January cleanses just about over???

Like Sloppy Mama’s Barbecue (on Feb. 2nd) will offer a $35 ‘All the Meats’ platter at Solly’s Tavern (or $50 for two).

Other favorites like Federalist Pig and Hill Country are also participating.

Find the full schedule of events here.

Most events you just show up and look for the special. Happy eating.

From the website:
“Meat Week starts the last Sunday in January. For 8 nights straight, we go to a different BBQ restaurant and feast. In every participating city, there is a devoted Captain who creates the schedule of restaurants to be visited throughout the week. Each city develops their own traditions, but Meat Week typically focuses on good ol’ American BBQ: Pork, ribs, brisket, barbecued chicken, and anything else you can smoke and smother in sauce.

People eat BBQ together, take pictures of each other doing so, and share them on the internet. Some cities’ captains also give out awards at the end of the week for people who showed exceptional meating prowess, or to honor the best restaurants.”
