Here’s the deal. Nerds in NoMa is a very cool annual speaker series.
I’ve attended many over the years, and try to attend whenever I can. Put on by NoMa Bid, they’ve been at it for seven years now.
As a FREE event, it ranks up there among the best you can find for no dollars (or cents) in DC.
You learn things about your local neighborhood and city, and get some free snacks and alcohol to boot. The snacks will be from Laos in Town (Michelin Bib Gourmand award winner) and the beer and wine will be plentiful.
Do it.

Once Upon a Time: Stories from the Neighborhood
The city is a place of neverending change. But in the spirit of Faulkner — who wrote, “The past is never dead. It isn’t even past.” — we’ll tap into the living history of the area now called NoMa with a handful of personal tales.
6-8pm
Nerds in NoMa Location (Lobby of 1200 First St NE, Washington, DC 20002)
Future Events
* February 11: Being Present: Paths of Mindfulness
