Another local band, it’s bound to be something good!
The Colonies are a DC-based indie rock band, formed while they were students at The George Washington University, that give listeners a lot to ask about. For example, do they like The Black Keys and The Stokes? Of course, and many of their songs have distinct connections to that incredible oeuvre.
The four member band recently released their third album, Bound To Be Something Good, and they will perform at DC9 on August 31st.
Their new single, “Do Nothing With Me”, sounds like something The Stokes could have included as a cool B-side. Pretty good.
The Colonies is Pete Stevens (vocals and guitar), Dylan Trupiano (guitar), Jordan Mullaney (bass) and Joey Mamlin (drums).
They open for The Brummies at DC9, and this is your opportunity to check out another local DC band!
Even if you can’t make this show, they make fairly regular appearances at the main concert venues in DC, so your chances are good to catch them live.
