Music for the angels!
Make a point to catch one of your local rock band favorites, Broke Royals, as they hit DC9 on August 16th. If you can’t wait that long, you can also catch them on Friday, July 26th opening for Sub-Radio, also at DC9.
The alternative rock and pop duo is about to release their newest album, Saint Luxury, out on August 2nd. The album is an exploration of huge life themes; faith, societal norms, adulthood, all told through an angel’s perspective as she questions and seeks answers to the riddle of life on Earth.
The title track is uplifting in sound and form, and would definitely be my theme song if I was an angel, whether seeking truth or just hanging out on Cloud Nine.
They just released “The World Is Ours’ as a single, and nobody said it would come easy but you’ll enjoy the album Saint Luxury when you get your hands on it. And you must.
Broke Royals are from the DC area, and the band is Philip Basnight and Colin Cross. When they tour, they are joined by Ben Wilson (guitar) and Taimir Gore (bass).
Get your tickets for August 16th here.
Tickets are $10. Doors at DC9 open at 7pm. Show at 7:30pm. Opener is Mystery Friends.
Also, here is “Bad Chemicals” from Saint Luxury.
