Local indie folk band alert!
Wylder comes to The Hamilton on Friday, July 12th and it looks like a show you don’t want to miss.
Their new album is Golden Age Thinking, out on July 12th. Meaning this is the album release show!
They will perform the new album in its entirety. They embue a bit of indie rock and chamber folk, with lots of harmony and hand clapping.
Will McCarry (vocals, guitar) formed the band in Virginia, and includes Lonnie Southall (guitar, mandolin), Mike Pingley (drums) and Jackson Wright (bass, piano).
The single “Ready To Break” is one such gem, that sounds perfect on the car radio with the top down. “Ghosts” begins with melancholy strings, and picks up the tempo with Will’s rich vocals, before a soaring chant of a chorus breaks in. Pretty good.
It should be a good show too, so get your tickets here.
Tickets are $14.75 ($19.75 seated). Doors open at The Hamilton at 6:30pm. Show at 8pm. Opener is Kid Brother.
