Jack White never gets bored!
He has so many bands. And one of them, garage rock The Raconteurs, will be blazing into The Anthem on August 17th. This kicks off a slate of impressive acts there for the rest of the year. You will be attending concerts the entire Fall, or you will be dead to us.
The Raconteurs is comprised of Jack White (vocals, guitar), Brendan Benson (vocals, guitar), Jack Lawrence (bass) and Patrick Keeler (drums), which they formed in 2005. Jack White has been a prolific solo artist and a member of many of bands, like obviously The White Stripes in the same era, and later helped form The Dead Weather with Jack Lawrence (and others like Alison Mosshart of The Kills).
They are touring North America for their third album, Help Us Stranger (via Third Man Records), which came out on June 21st. They’ve been dormant for about eight years, yet seemingly perfected the blues and funk rock they’ve excel at for their first two albums.
“Bored and Razed” is an epic rock song, with super guitar riffs, Jack White’s signature growly voice, and Brendan chiming in to add the chorus, ‘We are Detroit bored and razed’. I like the pun.
“Help Me Stranger” is an old school country and blues track. It’s an exciting entry to their canon, and now I can’t stop listening.
Get your tickets here.
Tickets are $65. Doors open at The Anthem at 6:30pm. Show at 8pm. No opener listed yet – or is it because they will rock you enough all by themselves?
