All Thursdays should hold this much promise for live music.
Come on down to DC9 on Thursday, June 27th to discover the alternative folk singer Faye Webster!
Faye is touring for her third Atlanta Millionaires Club (via Secretly Canadian), and not surprising she is from Atlanta, Georgia.
Her music is described as ‘genre-bending’, and it’s not hard to see why. The single “Kingston” is a languid, slow-burning ballad, that first hints at a country song but then shifts to a R&B crooner.
“Room Temperature” was listed a ‘Song You Need To Know’ by Rolling Stone, and speaks to heartbreak, with Faye’s pleading chorus of ‘I should get out more’, while set to island themed music.
If you’re not getting out more to concerts, we encourage such endeavors. Give Faye a listen and bend a few genres.
