Look out, Canadian indie pop sensations coming our way.
Head over to The Fillmore Silver Spring on May 29th, for some excellent pop music from the Ontario-based Walk Off The Earth.
Performing since 2006, they do their fair share of covers from popular artists, but also create their own music, like “Red Hands”, a huge pop hit from 2012 about taking responsibility for your own actions.
You may also know them from their first cover in 2012 of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know”, racking up over 186,000,000 views on YouTube! Don’t fight it, you will enjoy that rendition.
Now, they just released a sweet new cover (a more modestly viewed song – give it time) of Lisa Loeb’s “Stay (I Missed You)”. Lisa recently came through DC and sings a verse in the video.
I saw them perform at 2014’s Firefly Music Festival, and remember walking away impressed by their energy and singing chops.
The band is Gianni Nicassio, Ryan Marshall, Joel Cassady and Sarah Blackwood, plus other band members join when they tour.
