It’s 2 AM, now breathe.
DC’s City Winery in Ivy City has been open for over a year now, and many good artists and bands have come through. Have you made it?
Plan to head over there on June 14th to witness Anna Nalick, who’s “Breathe (2 AM)” was a folksy earworm in 2004 and forever (it was re-released in 2005 to even bigger results). One of my favorite songs of that decade.
As such, Anna’s first album Wreck of the Day saw a good amount of spins on my iPod. Now her most recent album (from 2017) is At Now, and the title track is a soulful look at where experience takes us, and knowing what you do and don’t need now.
Anna is a multi-instrumentalist from California, and last performed near DC in 2017, where she’s made a habit of playing at Jammin Java. At now she’ll give the newer City Winery some experience and that looks like a good fit. June 14th will be a seated show.
Her sound includes elements of indie pop, folk and Americana, with deeply rich melodies.
Make a trip to Ivy City again or the first of many. You have plenty of advance notice!
Get your tickets here.
Tickets are $20-25. Doors open at City Winery at 6pm. Show at 8pm. No opener listed.
