South African folk and blues singer-songwriter, Alice Phoebe Lou, will grace the DC area and you should be there!

Head over to Jammin Java in Vienna, VA on March 7th. Alice Phoebe Lou is currently based in Berlin, and will release her second album, Paper Castles, on March 8th (hey, maybe you can get an early copy at the show).

From Paper Castles, Alice says the songs are ‘about nostalgia, about growing into a woman, about the pain and beauty of the past, about feeling small and insignificant but finding that to be powerful and beautiful, about acknowledging that childhood is over but bringing some of it with you.’

“Something Holy” is a graceful, jazzy meditation about truly seeing someone. While “Skin Crawl” artfully speaks to putting the past behind you, and moving on from a bad relationship, wrapped in a whirling blues melody.

Should be an entertaining show!

Get your tickets here.

Tickets are $12. Doors open at Jammin Java at 6:30pm. Show at 7:30pm. Opener is L.A. Salami.
