Dawn Landes, ‘the new darling of country’ is coming to DC!
Dawn is touring for eight shows, including a co-headliner gig with Chris Stills at Songbyrd Music House on Sunday, November 4th.
Her fifth album since 2005, Meet Me At the River, is a Nashville record (where she lives now) produced by Fred Foster (Country Music Hall of Famer). Dawn wrote 10 of 12 songs on the record.
Like many a country song, her themes touch on heartbreak and the recklessness of youth, with wry titles like “Why They Name Whiskey After Men”. Her latest single, “Travelling”, is a about setting off (from New York where she also lived) and enjoying the journey.
You may have come across some of her earlier songs featured in movies, TV shows and commercials, “Straight Lines” was featured in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, among other places.
She’ll also open for Mary Chapin Carpenter during one of her shows (unfortunately not together in DC).
Definitely, get your tickets here.
Tickets are $15. Doors open at Songbyrd Music House at 7pm. Show at 8pm. Co-headliner is Chris Stills.
