Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are bringing their Skeleton Tree tour to fill the cavern of The Anthem.

It’s hard to believe, but Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are nearly halfway through their 4th decade as a functioning band. With their first album released in 1984 (From Her to Eternity) and their most recent in 2016 (Skeleton Tree), this band has been continuously evolving and creating captivating, memorable, and lyrically engrossing albums while others bands have formed, broken up, and reunited!

The Bad Seeds will be continuing to tour in support of 2016’s critically acclaimed Skeleton Tree when they come to DC’s The Anthem October 25th. This is the second album to feature a more ambient, avant-garde, electronic sound, following 2013’s Push The Sky Away. Before that, the Bad Seeds had moved from post-punk and alternative (80s), to darker and lyrically heavier (90s), to wider and more expansive sounds (00s).

From the looks of recent set lists, the upcoming show at The Anthem should be heavy on the new stuff, but include songs that reach all the way back to the beginning. If you’re a fan, you should be in luck. If you’re not yet a fan, it will be even more exciting to discover this iconic band.

Tickets are $60 – $100. Get them here.

Doors open at 6:30pm. Show begins at 8:00pm. Cigarettes After Sex is the opening act.
