Your defending Stanley Cup champions, the Washington Capitals are back in action, and crushed the Boston Bruins 7-0 in their NHL opening game!
Also, D.C. United is on fire! They are making a playoff push, having recently crushed Montreal 5-0. Head over to Audi Field, these guys are looking good.
A new Drink Company pop-up is coming, in partnership with Brightest Young Things. It’s called Death Becomes Us PUB, a true crime-inspired bar and will be located next to the current pop-up they have GWAR PUB in Shaw on 7th St. NW. (Death Becomes Us PUB)
The new Entertainment and Sports Arena (ESA) opened on September 22nd. It will host Wizards’ practices, Mystics’ home games, and other events. (Curbed DC)

Valor Brewpub opened on Barracks Row (under the Ugly Mug). Verified open, I went during the soft opening, and looks pretty good inside. They’ll need to expand the beer selection, but overall seems like a cool place. (Eater DC)

Bummers
The Washington Nationals didn’t make the playoffs…but I guess now we have to root against the Braves? Yep. I’ll pull for the Brewers in the NL and the Astros in the AL.
As you know by now, Taylor Gourmet closed all its stores!!!! F no!!!! Well, except the one in DCA. (Washingtonian)
