You need to be at the Black Cat on September 17th! And all week!*
Starting your week off right, head over to the Black Cat for a fine night of Australian indie rocking, with the Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever (also Rolling Blackouts C.F.).
With a name that makes you squint and tilt your head to see if it makes more sense sideways (it doesn’t), these five gents from Melbourne, Australia are touring for their third album, Hope Downs (via Sub Pop Records).
“Dig Up” from last year’s EP, French Press, is pleasant and jaunty and easy to put on repeat. So I did.
While “Mainland” from the new album paints a picture of our desire to escape the ordinary and the things falling apart, but with a catchy beat.
The band was formed by three singers and guitarists, Fran Keaney, Tom Russo and Joe White, and rounded out with Joe Russo on bass and Marcel Tussie on drums.
Get the fever.

Tickets are $15. Doors open at the Black Cat Mainstage at 7:30pm. Deeper is the opener.
* Hint: You can also see Dead Sara at the Black Cat (9/18) and their 25th Year Anniversary is happening on 9/14 and 9/15.
