Eat This: Lahmajun @ Smithsonian Folklife Festival

Lahmajun
Meat Lahmajun

Armenian Pizza!

You still have five more days to enjoy the Smithsonian Folklife Festival from July 4-8. 2018’s themes are Catalonia and Armenia!

I’m a huge proponent of trying all the food and drinks when traveling or during festivals.

It’s too expensive to try everything at the Folklife Festival, but you definitely must try something!

Head over to the Ginetoun Lahmajun & Wine Bar on the Armenia side of the National Mall, where I recommend the Meat Lahmajun ($9). This flatbread, typically called Armenian Pizza, is covered in ground beef, with onion, tomato, garlic and peppers, and a healthy squirt of yogurt from a squeeze bottle.

Wash the Lahmajun down with a refreshing pink Frosé Slushie. Mine was a slightly less slushy due to the machine acting up, but actually I preferred it that way.

There are plenty of other food items available, including a number of wine ‘Tasting and Toasting’ events.

Check out the menu here.
