Head over to Anacostia Park to close out the Cherry Blossom Festival.
On Saturday, April 15th, celebrate the Anacostia River, nearby trails and community for the fourth annual Anacostia River Festival.
This is the 100th anniversary of Anacostia Park, so it also serves as a birthday celebration and the ‘Year of the Anacostia!‘
The festival will have art, live music, workshops, games and plenty of other activities, especially related to biking. Like a bicycle parade, trail rides and tune-up stations.
You can also take advantage of being in Anacostia and head over to the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site in the Anacostia neighborhood to commemorate the life and legacy of Frederick Douglass, the ‘Sage of the Anacostia’ during the bicentennial year of his birth.
See a map and all the activities here.
Festival is Free. Runs from 1-5pm.
