Biggest Deals of 2017

(From 12/8) We have a new brewery coming to NE (next to REI) in late 2018, called Red Bear Brewing! That’s exciting, I’ll be able to walk home in 10 minutes.

(From 12/8) The Bruery (a brewery in California) just opened a retail store in DC near Union Market. (District Cuisine)

(From 10/6) The Wharf is opening October 12th. With a party! (Preview)

(From 10/6) The Anthem opens on October 12th with the Foo Fighters! See the full schedule so far!

(From 10/6) A new cidery is coming to DC called Supreme Core Cider. Their first offering is Micawber. Maybe you had it at Snallygaster? It’s also available in stores!

(From 10/6) Nationals won NL East! Nationals won NL East! That’s no surprise. Now they take on the Chicago Cubs in the NL Division Series starting Friday, 10/6. (Preview)

(From 9/1) The concept and video for the new Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge is awesome. But where are Bardo and the Dock 79 sand volleyball courts? (Concept)

(From 8/4) The Klingle Valley Trail has opened, and it is quite a fetching little trail. Verified open and walkable.

(From 5/26) Anxo Cidery and Tasting Room opens on May 27th! Need to add this to my brewery hike list. The space looks nice. (711 Kennedy Street NW)

(From 5/26) Salt Line (Navy Yard) opens June 1st! Seafood and Lobster Rolls! (79 Potomac Avenue SE) (Eater DC)

(From 4/28) The opening of Mason Dixie Biscuit Co.’s brick and mortar location (2301 Bladensburg Road NE) is a success. Going to try it this week.

Bummers of 2017

(From 11/10) DCist closes down! Holy cow, thankfully they have since made available the archives. A big blow to DC’s news and blogging community.

(From 10/6) Cantina Marina is closing on October 28th until 2021!! (Popville)

(From 9/1) Your DC Breeze fell 29-26 to the Toronto Rush in the AUDL playoffs. Still, congrats on a great ultimate frisbee season!
