Which concerts will you attend in the next two months?

2018 is almost here! And there are more than enough excellent concerts on offer in DC for your musical enjoyment.

Here are a few of the top shows I’m hoping to witness.

Notable is the recent opening of Union Stage, bringing even more music opportunities down to The Wharf (joining The Anthem and Pearl Street Warehouse).

The Wombats @ 9:30 Club (1/8/18) Note: I last caught them live at Firefly Music Festival 2016, so will be good to see them in the confines of the 9:30 Club.

The Killers @ The Anthem (1/10/18) Preview

Passion Pit @ 9:30 Club (1/10/18) Drat! Two shows on the same night!

Dorothy @ 9:30 Club (1/14/18) Preview

Shakira @ Capital One Arena (1/16/18) Note: It’s been over 11 years since I last saw her hips not lying. Editor’s Note: This concert has been moved to August 11th!

White Ford Bronco @ Union Stage (1/20/18) Note: I have yet to catch this local 90’s covers band live, so why not check them out in the new Union Stage?

Joe Purdy & Amber Rubarth @ The Hamilton (1/30/18) Concert Review

Black Masala @ Pearl Street Warehouse (2/2/18) Note: Again, I have yet to check out the new Pearl Street Warehouse, and Black Masala is another local DC band I haven’t seen. Concert Review

Joe Satriani @ Warner Theatre (2/14/18) Note: I saw him play at Lincoln Theatre in 2016, which was one of the best shows I witnessed that year. Concert Review

Sleigh Bells @ 9:30 Club (2/14/18) – Drat! Two shows on the same night again! Well, pick one!

What about some bonus shows?

SHAED @ Union Stage (1/27/18)

The Oh Hellos @ 9:30 Club (2/21/18)

Rachel Yamagata @ Union Stage (2/25/18) Interview
