The Canadian band Dizzy comes to DC with their infectious pop on December 8th!
They are opening for Foreign Air and SHAED (a favorite local band).
Growing up near Oshawa, Ontario, many of their songs reflect coming of age in the suburbs, about overcoming boredom yet in the context of living packed near lots of people.
Their sound reminds me of Grimes, also Canadian, with soaring dream pop melodies and slow-moving electronic beats. “Stars and Moons” and “Swim” are catchy and surely destined to make an appearance on playlists you’ve yet to create.
The band is three brothers – Alex, Charlie and Mackenzie Spencer – and Katie Munshaw on lead vocals.
So far they are performing six shows in the US, culminating at the Rock and Roll Hotel. Don’t miss it!
