The Wild Reeds, a band with hints of rock and folk and country, come all the way from Los Angeles to play for us at the Rock and Roll Hotel on Friday, April 28th. Why not join them?
The are touring for their second album, The World We Built, released by Nashville’s Dualtone Records and produced by Peter Katis.
The band is fronted with the vocal harmonies of Kinsey Lee, Mackenzie Howe and Sharon Silva, with Nick Phakpiseth (bass) and Nick Jones (drums) also members.
Listening to a few songs from their new album, “Only Songs” and “Everything Looks Better (in Hindsight)” are introspective peeks into love and loss. The introspection seems to be a theme of the whole album, many songs are wistful but a few songs go beyond the harmonies where the melodies start to rock, just a little. I like the sound overall.
Tickets are $14. Doors open at Rock and Roll Hotel at 8pm, show starts at 9pm (the opener is Blank Range). See you there.
