Shopping, British post-punk ‘supergroup’ sensations, are gracing DC9 with their presence on March 26th!

(Editor’s Note: Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this show has been postponed. Will update the post when the re-scheduled date is announced.)

They are touring for their fourth album, All Or Nothing (via Fat Cat). I’ve been digging their third album of late, 2017’s The Official Body, so will also grab a copy of All Or Nothing as it was released on February 7th.

Until recently the band was based in London, but they’ve spread out a bit to both Glasgow and Los Angeles. The band is Rachel Aggs (guitar), Andrew Milk (drums), and Billy Easter (bass). They formed in 2012, as players in the young, queer East London scene, their sound given such labels as minimalist dance-punk. They give off hints of Gang of Four and Talking Heads. They came together from separate projects; Rachel (Trash Kit, Sacred Paws), Andrew (Current Affairs) and Billy (Wet Dog).

The single “Initiative”, from All Or Nothing, lets you dance in a tight ball of jangly motion, as the lyrics wonder why you won’t get off your ass and show some initiative.

This should be a fun show, get yourself to DC9!

Get your tickets now here.

Tickets are $15. Doors open at DC9 at 7:30pm. Show at 8pm. Openers are Automatic and Clear Channel.
