Well, if you need to keep the American Football dream alive after college football and the National Football League ends this season, we now have the XFL!
Your DC Defenders, one of eight new teams in the XFL, kick off their existence on Saturday, February 8th at Audi Field. They will battle the Seattle Dragons.
This new iteration of the XFL has once again been founded by Vince McMahon of World Wrestling Entertainment. The original defunct version lasted only one season (2001). We trust that they have worked out the kinks this time around.
The DC Defenders season will last 10 games (5 home/5 away), through April 12th. Top two teams in each conference make the playoffs.
As a long-time season ticket holder for the NFL, color me intrigued. It’s good it doesn’t conflict with other football options, that should help with people giving it a shot.
Get your tickets here.
Tickets are currently $24 and up.
Game time 2pm.
Audi Field (100 Potomac Ave SW, Washington, DC 20024)
