Come out for David Lynch Foundation’s benefit concert!
Norah Jones will be one of many artists at the Silence the Violence Benefit Concert, hosted by the David Lynch Foundation.
It will be held on Friday, October 11th at The Anthem.
The concert, in partnership with THEARC (Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Campus), will raise funds in order to bring the transcendental meditation technique to 10,000 at risk youth in DC. This evidence-based technique is used in vulnerable communities in schools and after school programs, churches, community centers and more. Research has shown that TM reduces stress, heals PTSD, lowers substance abuse, improves academic performance and graduation rates, and reduces arrests for violent crime.
Why this benefit concert? It sounds like you can listen to good music for a good cause. Of course, the talent draw is Norah Jones for me, but also Katy Perry and Mavis Staples will perform to make this a great lineup.
Norah recently released a new album, Begin Again, while Katy Perry is currently a judge on American Idol (it’s back!).
Do good and consider attending this benefit concert!
