The 51st State has a fair!
The 10th Annual DC State Fair will happen on September 8th. This year’s location will shift to the SE Quadrant, at Gateway DC, which has a park and a pavilion. This is near the recently opened Entertainment and Sports Arena.
Why a DC State fair? Well, the House of Representatives wants to make DC the 51st State. The Senate needs to step up. Every state needs a fair, so consider this another brick in the road to statehood. Also, it’s a free showcase of our local agriculture and artists!
As always, there’s a Pet Parade with pet-themed contests, and other performances. Find the list of performances here.
For the beer conscious, check out the beer garden, and try the Homebrew Contest. See who won last year.
Or just enter in all the other food-related contests available, like Best Hot Sauce, Best Cake or Best Photography. Learn how to enter here.
Free. Hours 11-7pm.
