Touring for her latest album, On The Line, Jenny Lewis will take over The Anthem on September 5th with her soulful and charming, yet rocking, ballads about life and relationships.
On The Line (via Warner Records) has made it on many Best of 2019 lists so far, from Rolling Stone to Entertainment Weekly. With great songs like “Red Bull & Hennessy”, about letting loose and going for it, it’s easy to see why. Or on “Wasted Youth”, also about drunks and alcohol, where mistakes of youth lead to regrets of adulthood.
Also known as the lead singer of the former indie rock band Rilo Kiley, Jenny’s solo and collaboration career as an indie rock singer has been humming along nicely, with On The Line being her second solo album since the band’s 2013 break-up (and her fourth overall). She’s done her fair share of acting gigs in TV shows and movies. She also formed a fun named band, Nice as Fuck, in 2016 with Erika Forster (Au Revoir Simone), and Tennessee Thomas (The Like).
Definitely go to this show by buying your tickets here.
Tickets are $40. Doors open at The Anthem at 6:30pm. Show at 8pm. Opener is The Watson Twins.
