The second to last bobble is on Saturday. And playoff baseball is on the horizon…
The seventh (of eight) Nationals’ bobbleheads this season comes on August 17th, glorifying Patrick Corbin (SP). The first 25,000 fans to Saturday’s game win a tiny, grinning Corbin statue.
So far Patrick Corbin is 9-5 with a 3.41 ERA and 172 strikeouts. Pretty solid all around, maybe even $12.5 per year solid (what the Nationals are paying him). The Nationals have one of the best starting pitching staffs in the MLB so far, and if they are to finally advance in the playoffs, Corbin will be a huge factor in any potential success. First, let’s get there.
The Nationals are in the driver’s seat for a Wild Card spot, it’s just a question if they can hold off the Mets and the Brewers. The Nationals are 62-55 (as of 8/12), with a 1/2 lead over the Brewers.
And since they are playing the Brewers this weekend, this is a huge series! Go! Every game matters.
