Is the best beer festival in DC getting even better?

Snallygaster returns for its eighth edition on October 12th, in the same locale as last year, Downtown DC.

(Added 9/26): Check out all the beers they will be pouring here!

Once again the epic beer festival will feature around 400 beers from nearly 150 breweries.

Why this beer festival? It is probably the best one in DC. It is one of your best chances to geek out on so much beer. The curators, Neighborhood Restaurant Group (NRG), also manage the great beers and events at Bluejacket and Churchkey.

NRG does a great job of getting rare beers not just from across the U.S., but from the world! In addition to fantastic rare beers from Perennial, Jester King, The Alchemist, Monkish, Toppling Goliath and other great American craft breweries; there were also beers from Cantillon, 3 Fonteinen, several German breweries with lagers, and many more at the 2018 Snallygaster.

There are a couple of changes from last year. First, there is a flat entry and then unlimited beer sampling. This is a big change from previous years where there was an entry fee and tickets (SnallyBucks) had to be purchased to buy beers.

And according to BYT, they will do away with the plastic cups, which is awesome because why are we using plastic cups? That was the #1 (and probably only) complaint about last year’s festival, the wasteland of tiny cups.

Lastly if working your way through a crazy amount of good beer isn’t enough, Snallygaster is the annual fundraiser for Arcadia, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a more equitable and sustainable local food system in the DC area. So drink beer to help people.

Get your tickets starting Friday, June 7th on the website.

VIP is $100 (12pm Entry w/unlimited tastings). General Admission $50 (2pm Entry w/unlimited tastings).
