How many breweries do you think there are in the U.S.?
If you said a shit ton, you’d be right! In 2019, there are now over 7,000 breweries, 98% of which are small and independent craft brewers.
Considering I’ve only managed to visit 163 U.S. breweries, the number is intimidating. So much beer, so little time.
But you can spend a week of your time on beer. Mark off your calendar for the American Craft Beer Week® happening from May 13-19.
Always something good going on that week to celebrate and honor beer. The best liquid.
Events in and near DC should be announced soon, so bookmark the American Craft Beer Week site and check back.
About American Craft Beer Week: Small and independent craft brewers have made America’s beer culture the richest in the world – in flavor, in hops and in spirit! Celebrate those whose imagination and drive for independence have turned beer upside down, with week-long events showcasing all things grain, hop, yeast and water. American Craft Beer Week gives seasoned beer lovers and anyone curious about craft beer the chance to discover more and support their local breweries and beer businesses.
You can also be part of the movement to support your local breweries, by signing-up for info from the Brewers Association and by seeking the Independent Craft Brewer Seal when purchasing beer.
