Still time to get your tickets to Appaloosa! Where the Scythian play, the fiddles roam and you can camp out too.
You should really attend the 2018 Appaloosa Music Festival on September 1st and 2nd down in Front Royal, VA. (Technically it starts on Friday evening, August 31st with a few bands.)
Why attend this music festival? First of all, it’s organized by your favorite DC band, Scythian. And they will perform both Saturday and Sunday!
Second, Mandolin Orange is the headliner for Sunday’s lineup. We thought they were swell when they performed at 9:30 Club in 2017.
Third, 2018 is the fourth annual edition of this smaller festival, with its chill vibe and the joy of being outside. You can rub elbows and camp with all your friends (and all your new friends). It’s also family friendly (children under 12 are free).
Finally, although Appaloosa is a type of horse, in this context it refers to the freedom to roam and having a good time playing roots, folk, and hometown music (presumably). The ‘loosa’ could also pull double duty as a nod to the long running Lollapalooza.
