Emily Haines returns to perform near DC! #metric

Your favorite Canadian indie rock band, Metric, will open for the Smashing Pumpkins’ reunion tour, and the nearest they are coming to DC is in Baltimore on July 27th.

The Royal Farms Arena is not so far away, and you should be at least intrigued by a reformed Smashing Pumpkins (minus one original member), with an often erratic Billy Corgan at the helm, it won’t be boring!

But even without the headliners, you must be stoked to see Metric perform live, something they haven’t done near DC since March 2016 at The Fillmore Silver Spring. Emily did play a solo gig in DC in 2017.

Metric’s last album was the 2015 Pagans In Vegas, one that I didn’t love, but they do have a new single called “Dark Saturday” that sounds pretty cool, and will be part of their upcoming (as of yet untitled) album due out in September 2018. Presumably, we’ll get a first hand listen to some of their new songs!

Metric is Emily (lead vocals), James Shaw (guitar), Joshua Winstead (bass) and Joules Scott-Key (drums). They all also love to play their synthesizers.

Get your tickets here.

Tickets are $29 and up. Doors at the Royal Farms Arena open at 7pm. Headliner is Smashing Pumpkins.
