Come to Union Stage on Sunday!
Laura Veirs will soon grace Union Stage touring for her 10th solo album, The Lookout, which she wrote prominently in her hometown Portland, Oregon.
Laura has been writing songs for almost twenty years, and her latest effort is an excellent peek into her style of enduring and often contemplative folk songs. These songs speak to the fleeting nature of life, within the chaos of our current times.
She recently toured with k.d. Lang and Neko Case (styled collectively as ‘case/lang/veirs’), hitting the Lincoln Theatre for two shows in 2016, but now returns to DC on her solo tour.
The Lookout is a strong album after giving it a good listen, with highlights like the beautifully arranged “Everybody Needs You” and “Watch Fire” featuring Sufjan Stevens.
There’s a reason she toured with her (possibly) more well-known counterparts, come find out why!
