If you’re headed to see the Nationals this weekend against the Arizona Diamondbacks, be sure to check out the new Aslin Beer Garden!
It joins Bluejacket, The Big Stick, Salt Line and the just opened All-Purpose in offering good craft beer near the ballpark in the Navy Yard neighborhood.
Aslin is one of the most popular craft breweries in the region, and now we have a dependable way to get their beers without having to leave the District. Plus, the lines are nowhere near as long as at their brewery to purchase cans-to-go. Aslin is probably best known for their often fruity, hazy New England IPAs and rich stouts.
The beer garden is only open on Nationals game days and is generally open a couple of hours before and after the game. The beer garden is required to close by 10pm, though, so don’t count on being able to have a beer after a night game.
During the opening home stand (against the Mets), five to seven different beers were available with prices ranging from $6-$11 per 16 oz can. On Opening Day, we enjoyed some tasty IPAs (like Awkwardly Sweet) and a hoppy pilsner.
The Aslin Beer Garden is located to the east of the Hampton Inn at the corner of 1st and N SE. For updates on operating hours and beer selection, check the beer garden’s Instagram page and Facebook page.
