Want your alternative rock with a kick of 1990’s grunge?
Hit up the Rock and Roll Hotel on May 11th for the Canadian indie rock band, Sloan!
They began in 1991 in Halifax, Nova Scotia (now based in Toronto) and were instrumental in instigating the Canadian East Coast alternative scene, some comparing it to the Seattle scene of the same era.
Supporting their 12th album, aptly name 12, Sloan is comprised of its original four members; Chris Murphy (lead vocals, bass), Patrick Pentland (lead vocals, guitar), Jay Ferguson (rhythm guitar), and Andrew Scott (drums).
Recently, Sloan was named one of Canada’s top five bands of all-time in a CBC critics poll.
Their newest single, “The Day Will Be Mine” is a worthy new rocking anthem, including a guitar solo!
