Your favorite indie rock band named after a Austrian archduke is coming to DC!

The Franz Ferdinand show at the 9:30 Club on April 11th is sold out, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use your Friends With Benefits points (9:30 Club’s loyalty program) or just get a copy of their fifth studio album, Always Ascending. They also have one remix album and a collaboration album under their belts.

The title track, and first single, is a super dance number that will get you energized for the show.

Well known hits like “Take Me Out” and “No You Girls” are both over a decade old at this point, but are still classics in my book. I’ve not listened closely to their previous album from 2013, but since I own them all, it’s time to give it another listen.

Their most recent single is “Lazy Boy” and starts with somewhat droll lyrics before ramping for a catchy beat, going back to the heart of what I liked about them.

Franz Ferdinand are from Scotland and are comprised of Alex Kapranos (vocals, guitar), Bob Hardy (bass), Paul Thomson (drums) and Julian Corrie (guitar, keyboards). Of note, their original guitarist, Chris McCarthy, has recently left.

Sold out (so get on resale sites!) Doors open at the 9:30 Club at 7pm. No opener listed.
