Some things cool things, but also a few that suck.
Big Deals
The opening of Mason Dixie Biscuit Co.’s brick and mortar location (2301 Bladensburg Road NE) is a success. Going to try it this week.
The upcoming opening of the new Chick-fil-A on May 18th (on the H Street Corridor).
That 11th Street Bridge Park may just be happening. Take a tour of the location at the end of May!
A new bar, Hill Prince, opened on H Street NE in March. Need to check it out.
Bummers
Closing of the Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery at the Hill Center (near Barracks Row SE).
Old news, but the Argonaut is gone and it is a bummer.
The Washington Capitals just started round two of the 2017 playoffs (April 27th) (where they have lost 5 times in the last 9 seasons) against the defending champion, Pittsburgh Penguins. If they win the series, it’s a big deal. Very big. I’m putting it under bummers, because they lost Game 1. And aren’t you a little nervous?
Is Acre 121 closing for good? It’s about to be renovated, and will open with a new concept later this year.
