The punk, garage rockers The Regrettes come to DC on June 6th!
The band formed in Los Angeles in 2015 and is currently Lydia Night (vocal, guitar), Genessa Gariano (guitar) and Sage Chavis (bass). It seems they are missing their drummer, as Maxx Morando recently left the band as of May 10th!
Their energetic attitude and brash lyrics are evident in the defiant “Hey Now” and their most recent single, the kiss off break-up song “Come Through”.
I really like the sound of “Hey Now” and the video speaks to forms of misogyny in the music business, but casting it back to the 1950’s, maybe to show we haven’t progressed as far as we should have as a society.
The Regrettes came to DC last year, and will also perform at Firefly Music Festival, so definitely check go to one of their shows!
